Born from the collaboration between IVS Italia and Chicco Cotto cooperative, BreakCotto is a project dedicated to the inclusion of young people with disabilities in the world of work. This initiative was the focus of an interesting in-depth discussion in the program “Si può fare – Storie dal sociale” on Radio 24, broadcast on January 11th. During the episode, journalist and host Cristina Carpinelli explored every feature of this unique entrepreneurial adventure, interviewing some of its protagonists at the Liceo Artistico Cottini high school in Turin.

Andrea Bonsignori, president of BreakCotto, told the story of how the idea was born and developed, looking to the future: “BreakCotto is proof that work can be inclusive and highly skilled. We started with just a few boys and today we are growing, both in numbers and in social impact”. Fabrizio De Gregori, BreakCotto’s Disability Manager, explained the practical and personalized training activities offered to the boys together with a tutor: “Our role is to accompany them along a path that makes them increasingly autonomous, building a human and professional relationship of mutual respect”.

The principal of Liceo Artistico Cottini, Prof. Alberto Balestra, emphasized the importance of the project as a model of integration: “This collaboration is a great opportunity for our students, as it offers them a path that goes beyond theory and connects them directly to the social and productive fabric”. Finally, special attention was given to Francesco Fornari, a worker at BreakCotto, who shared his experience of personal and professional growth. His parents, Piero Fornari and Silvana Reano, emphasized how much this path has given their son not only employment, but also greater self-confidence.

The program concluded by reaffirming the social value of an initiative like BreakCotto and confirming that work can indeed become a bridge to a more inclusive society, capable of developing everyone’s talents.
